Garmin Smartphone Link App Reviews

1/21/17 Still not staying connected. Within 5 min of driving GPS displays iOS/IPhone disconnected. Live Traffic worked once for about 10 min and it disconnected. Very disgusted and am tempted to return and go back to TomTom and I thought they had bad CS/Quality!! Please fix, Ive unpaired and re-paired. No matter what within 5 min or less GPS pops up with IOS services lost. Please fix/advise!

This version of Smart Link has enabled the traffic feature for free (instead of $20) and seems much more stable

Impossible to search for a destination outside of your immediate area using the app. I end up having to manually imputing the address directly into the GPS. Its slow, and doesnt always connect.

Live traffic bugs have not been fixed. Live traffic is still terrible.

This app will no longer connect with my GPS. Even though my phone in my GPS unit are connecting through Bluetooth the app will not sync with the GPS. On the rare occasion when it will hook up you continue to turn the hands-free feature on even though Ive turned it off dozens of times it wont save my preference.

Lacks the ability to disable features. You buy the weather to find out it gives alerts 3hrs away at the coast instead of anywhere local. Ok, stinks but what is horrible is that you cant disable it. So now if I want traffic I need to accept crappy weather alerts for coastal flooding when I live 3hrs from the ocean. Now I just ignore them and its a joke in the family now. Is it really a thunderstorm or is it just a passing cloud and the bad part is 3hrs away. No clue, clicking on the alert gives you an error that it cant connect. And their support cant help on any of this. Awesome job!

Dramatically drain battery

will not work with garmin 3580 LM even with bluetooth activated nad recognizing the Iphone

I have a 3G ipad, but this app doesnt support ipad.

Please update the app. The phone is working with the nuvi via blue booth only. Other navigational functions are not working

Phone wont connect due to my device being a 2011 model and not a 2013. I call that garbage right there. I wont be buying a new one for probably another 10 years, so this app is no good at all.

First check the compatibility of your device. It seems that with the Iphone, only the newest, bought in 2013, will work with the Iphone app. Try to find this advice in the description of the app? Pity but, well Garmin is Garmin.

Have purchased Nuvi 2595. Unfortunately, this version does not seem to be in the supported list. The Smartphone Link app seems to support the phone functions but cannot send maps from the phone to the Navigator. Make sure you have the correct model of Garmen is you want to use an iPhone with it.

Garmin site states that Nuvi 3580 which is very new does not support Smartlink for iOS or "will never be". I will be returning this device next week, good luck Garmin!

Bought a nuvii 2595. Supposed to be compatible. Would not send maps to device. Maps on App are supposed to be google maps. They dont appear to be! Maps are so lacking detail when you look up address, there is no point.

Impossible to link my iPhone 4 and my nuvi 3580LM with this app.

A great idea but a bad product. My GPS is compatible and it does work as advertise but it is hit and miss if it will connect next time you start the GPS up. I have an iPhone 5 and it should connect every time to the GPS, the phone function does but not the iConnect.

It serves no purpose but to try to sell you other paid content
