Garmin Smartphone Link App Reviews

This thing was never all that reliable, but now the link that runs the different functions like weather and online traffic updates doesnt work at all.

Several of my Contacts have multiple addresses, such as Home and Work addresses. Every Time I click on one of the multiple addresses the app crashes. Every Damned Time.

Connected to the smart link fine and worked for a little while. Somehow within the first hour of connectivity it disconnects and does not re pair itself to the gps. Its a real PIA

The weather warnings wont show on my gps unless the app is actually on the screen of my phone. Meaning no screen timeout or sleep. Traffic seems to work. Not impressed.

Horrible weather radar, all it does is update most of the time and never give you up close to where youre actually at.

If you could give a negative score this would EARN one!!

Wish this worked with apps like Lyft and uber so I could use garmin instead of google or Apple.

If I could give this app a 0 star Rating I would. It doesnt work and locks up my Kenwood HD571. It used to work until around July of last year. Supposedly this update fixed the communication issues. Not so much. Before it quit working it was awesome, please garmin fix your app.

Giving it ZERO stars. Its completely useless. Theres so little features. The map to search for places only searches locally. You cant plan a trip or pick specific places unless its nearby. The ONLY way to send relevant locations to the unit from the app is to first search for it on your map, save the location to your address book, access your address book from the app, select the address and then send it to the unit. You cant even send a location from your map and as I said, their map is completely useless. The map says its powered by HERE. Never heard of the company. Totally disappointing that a GPS company has such a horrible app interface. COMPLETELY USELESS

Great app, super convenient, BUT unless you enter an address in your contact, and lunch it from there, the address search is LIMITED to nearby locations only...

not sure why Garmin bothers with this app. Very very poor search engine. I have such a hard time finding anything when using the app-search engine powered by HERE....guess Google is too expensive or something. I passed the HQ in Maine and wanted to toss my Nuvi at em and say keep it until you get it together. Too bad the Nuvi is not cheap.

My nuvi 2599lmthd will connect to my phone and make calls, which is useless, but it wont connect to smartphone feature. This app doesnt work.

Very simple on this reply. The blue tooth on my new garmin unite with camera will only connect for 3 minutes and then shuts OFF. I want to know if there is a fix ??? Or do I return to Costco and then I will go to a TOM TOM or anybody else that use blue tooth . This app is pure junk along the blue tooth connection Sign NOT HAPPY GARMIN CUSTOMER

It will not connect to my iPhone 7. The phone and garmin Dezel will pair but will not connect with smartphone link. This app worked fine with my Sony Xperia. I hope this is just because the iPhone 7 is new and this will be fixed soon.

Should have trip planner for Garmin deżl 770! For some reason when I connect and send new address it disconnects! Garbage need to update.!

Wont work,live traffic comes in after the fact. Bluetooth wont stay connected.

Not even beta. What a joke.

No matter what I do the app wont recognize the compatible Garmin. Done all the troubleshooting steps as few there are. It will connect to BT but the app still fails to recognize the navigator.

Got the app and bought the weather subscription thinking I would have weather on my Kenwood DNX571TR. Not happening, despite a good bluetooth connection between devices. Worse is there is apparently no way to get a refund!!! There ought to be a law.
